Without knowing the true facts and also being someone who doesn’t like to bring attention to heinous accusations/acts by publicly speaking about them I have been teetering back and forth on commenting about this weekend’s non fictitious news regarding a piano playing Berkeley music guy who happens to be considered internet famous.
Speaking about this situation gives this situation more attention, as little as this attention may be, it is still more attention. It’s more attention to something I cannot condone and I do not like giving it any public acknowledgement. On the other hand not addressing it is almost as bad as condoning it so here I am, speaking up.
I don’t know who the alleged victims are. I may know who they are but at this moment I do not know any names of those involved. I however have played a slew of shows with, traded a slew of jokes with, and been very cordial with the alleged attacker. So when I found out about this investigation I most likely shared similar thoughts and reactions with all of you. I wanted to deny this. I couldn’t believe I associated myself with someone who could do this. I searched the internet to not find confirmation, but to find out this wasn’t true. I did not search to find out that the victims were lying, but more so to find out that this was some despicable early April Fools Day prank. I couldn’t believe that I’ve trusted this person and that I assumed this person was not someone who could cause any harm to any of the loving and awesome fans we share in this crazy wizard rock/nerdfighteria life we have been enthralled in for all of these years. I’m sure most of you felt the way I felt.
What’s more important than how I felt is how the victims feel. They probably didn’t ask for this. This probably happened to them and it has probably spun their world as they knew it upside down. I want the victims to know that they are safe with us. I want them to never feel like they are in the wrong for speaking out about this. I want them to not feel alone or outcasted. I want them to know that they are still part of a large community filled with people who love and respect them for who they are…regardless of who or what that may be.
Whether you’ve heard me or not I’ve always thanked you and loved you and told you that without you there wouldn’t be a JFF or any of my peers for that matter. I’ve always believed that regardless of the situation the show must go on for you, for all of you and I want you to know that me and my peers work very hard to let you be safe and secure with us at all of our shows and online events. Please stand by each other and please support each other and don’t fall off the awesome path that we’ve all been traveling on together. As a group, drawn together by multiple similar likes, dislikes and emotions I encourage everyone to allow this tragic event to help make us stronger as a community. Please don’t be ashamed or afraid to say “no” to or report any situations where someone you consider a celebrity, a friend, or both are encouraging you to do or feel something you are not comfortable with.
Again I do not enjoy publicly speaking about this incident but I enjoy it even less to publicly ignore it. I want to give reassurance that we are still a community filled with love, respect and support for one another. Be safe and be kind. There are many wolves in sheep’s clothing in this world. Unfortunately even our world has seemingly been penetrated by one. Let’s learn from this. Let’s stay strong. Let’s stay positive. Let’s support the innocent victims as they go through this very tough time in their young lives.
Love,
Justin Michaelman, a.k.a. Justin Finch-Fletchley a.k.a JFF.
Christmas is so much fun and so are silly Wizard Rock Christmas songs. Join me, JFF, on a Christmas adventure often interrupted by Hagrid the Half-Giant and his gigantic booze filled holiday spirit on “Justin Finch-Fletchley and the HuffleWizard Christmas Songs digital EP.”
That’s right! JFF (along with Hagrid’s love) tries to reacquaint, reconcile, decorate, celebrate and even sing about house elves in this fab new collection of some new and old wizard holiday songs.
It’s only $5 and since it’s Christmas this collection is ready for delivery and download: http://dft.ba/-JFF-xmasEP
P.S.—All of these songs have been recorded exclusively for this lively and lovely Christmas EP.

For over 50 years Draco and the Malfoys have been torturing us with their brand of evil wizard rock….and now…this weekend at the Brooklyn and Boston Yule Balls we WILL finally have our chance to be ridiculed, patronized and insulted by wizard rock’s greatest antagonists of all time for the very last time at their very last 2 live shows ever!!!!

Now, in the future they may still release more music and they may still be wizard rock’s most evilest band but this weekend, and this weekend only, will be historical as the infamous Draco and the Malfoys take the stage for the very last time.
Good riddance!

Nacho craving!!!
Ok, check out this sort of Nacho Pizza I just made.
I whipped up a chili then used it, along with the restaurant style lime salsa I made yesterday as the base sauce.
I hand tossed my dough and I worked it real thin to get it to be chip-like. I seasoned the thin dough, baked it for two minutes at 500 on my preheated pizza stone. Then I took it out of the oven using my trusty pizza peel and added the chili sauce then topped with shredded cheddar and mozzarella.
I baked my pie for about 5 more minutes then sprinkled it with diced leeks and put it back in for about 3 more minutes.
I pulled it out, added a little more cheese and then topped with some local cilantro.
Damn, it tastes good.
I was able to satisfy my nacho craving and also maintain my daily pizza requirement in one meal.
It’s like getting two birds stoned at once or however that saying goes!
- JFF Out!
